A.P.P.L.E., Mamaroneck High School’s long-standing alternative program, is an acronym for A Place People Learn Excellence. Students that come to A.P.P.L.E. are here for a variety of reasons, but mostly they are searching for the structure and familiarity of a small home base within the larger community of MHS. Students stay connected to main school through foreign language, electives, PE, and sports and clubs. The one universal truth about A.P.P.L.E. students is that they have all chosen to be here because of their strong desire to achieve and a willingness to adhere to our philosophy of respect, community, self-reflection, and personal growth. With small classes, strong structural guidelines, built in academic interventions, and a committed staff that believes every student has the capacity to achieve success, it’s no wonder the program has been in existence for 40 years!!
