Welcome to Chatsworth Avenue Elementary School! Since opening its doors in 1902, Chatsworth Avenue School has proudly honored its rich traditions while embracing innovative teaching and learning practices that prepare students for success in an ever-changing world.

Our mission is to nurture all of our students by fostering learning environments that promote kindness, resilience, critical thinking, and build a strong sense of global awareness. We are committed to helping every child grow academically, socially, and emotionally so they are prepared to share their voices with compassion and confidence.

Our dedicated teachers and staff work collaboratively to provide a rigorous, student-centered education that encourages a growth mindset and celebrates each child’s unique strengths. Through meaningful learning experiences, high expectations, and supportive relationships, we empower students to become independent learners and responsible citizens.

One of our greatest strengths is our partnership with families and the community. We are fortunate to have an incredibly supportive PTA that enriches student learning through programs such as art appreciation, our school garden, chess, cultural arts, author visits, recess programming, mindfulness initiatives, and many other opportunities that enhance the elementary experience. In addition, our exceptional special-area teachers inspire creativity and exploration through music, art, physical education, library, and technology.

Nestled in a vibrant community near the Long Island Sound, Chatsworth Avenue School benefits from a wealth of local resources that extend learning beyond the classroom.
