Our Mirimus Labs partnership will allow us to reliably conduct COVID-19 testing among all 900+ staff members and 4,500+ students with accuracy and a quick turnaround. Pooled testing is a resource-effective way to efficiently test large groups and receive fast and accurate results, usually within 24 hours. This additional safety measure is intended to complement—and not replace—the behavioral norms (daily temperature checks, completion of the pre-arrival health screening form, wearing masks), infrastructure changes, and other adjustments we have made to keep our community safe and our buildings open. In addition, members of our community are expected to continue to follow health and safety measures while they are not on campus to further mitigate the risk of the spread of COVID-19. The goal with testing is to be able to identify individuals who are infected and enable them to take precautions immediately to protect themselves, their friends and families, and the broader community.
Test Kit Distribution Day is Wednesday, January 6 for All Students Enrolled in Hybrid Learning
Test kits are available for pick-up on Wednesday, Jan. , 2021. Pick up your at-home saliva-based self-administered COVID-19 PCR test kit(s)for each registered student in your home at the elementary school for which you are zoned between 8 am and 4 pm.
First Round of Testing to be Conducted Thursday, January 7 and Friday, January 8
Staff and students can choose to self-administer the non-invasive saliva based test on one of these two dates. It is important that tests be conducted on Thursday, January 7 or Friday, January 8. The timing is critical because we are working to ensure that schools are safe for in-person learning on Monday, Jan. 11 and need students and staff to test as close to Monday as possible.
- A short how-to video with instructions on collecting the saliva sample can be found here. See printed instructions here. Please remember to drop off your test sample between the hours of 8 am and 7 pm on Thurs., Jan. 7 or between 8 am and 10 am on Fri., Jan. 8 at our four elementary schools.
- Private PCR testing will be accepted as long as the test is conducted on Jan. 7 or Jan. 8, with results submitted to the District prior to arrival at school for in-person learning on Jan. 11.
Privacy is of utmost concern. Our testing program adheres to all federal and state privacy laws. All test results remain confidential.

Why should you participate in the Mamaroneck School District Testing Program?
Testing Overview - The Mamaroneck School District Testing Program will be an important component of our health and safety plan in the new year. It is safe, free and easy for everyone. The goal with testing is to be able to identify individuals who are infected and enable them to take precautions immediately to protect themselves, their friends and families, and the broader community. Testing of all students and staff at the start of the new year (2021) will be followed by random weekly surveillance maintenance testing.

Who should get tested?
All staff and students enrolled in hybrid learning should participate except individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days.
Will we be notified of test results?
You will only be contacted if a sample in your pool pairing tests positive or if there is a problem with your sample. See more details in FAQs.
