Dear Community Members,
Thank you to the hundreds of people who joined me in Wednesday evening's virtual Town Hall Meeting designed for elementary school parents. I appreciated the opportunity to provide an update on the state of our schools/remote learning and the 2020-2021 Proposed MUFSD Budget, as well as answer some questions about our planning process for the fall. We will summarize the Q&A from the evening and post them on the District website over the next several days.
To date, we have received more than 160 applications from parents interested in being a part of the elementary, middle school and high school planning teams. Due to the great amount of interest and the number of questions we continue to receive, I will hold an upcoming roundtable discussion on planning for the 2020-2021 school year. My thanks to PT Council, which offered to collect questions that will be asked during the roundtable. Please utilize the attached form to submit questions by Monday, May 25, at 2 pm.
I understand the video quality of the Zoom meeting Wednesday evening was not ideal. We are working to explore other meeting platform options moving forward. We hope you will tune in to the roundtable, which will be aired on LMC Media and also be available on their website. Stay tuned for the link for next week's Town Hall and for more details about the roundtable. Please note that the roundtable is in addition to the two previously scheduled Superintendent's Town Hall Meetings (May 27 for middle school parents and June 3 for high school parents).
Regards,
Dr. Robert I. Shaps
Superintendent of Schools
