New Web Page Devoted to Coronavirus: District Updates & Information
As you may be aware, a case of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 was confirmed earlier today in Westchester. As Superintendent of Schools Dr. Shaps mentioned in his letter last week to the community, we continue to closely monitor the situation, seek information from the Westchester County Health Department, NY State Department of Health & the CDC, and take every step possible to keep our community healthy and safe.
Dr. Shaps has ordered alcohol-based hand sanitizers at the main entrances of each school, and the custodial staff has been dutiful in wiping down surfaces (desktops, banisters, tabletops, door handles, faucets) with a disinfectant spray that can help kill viruses. Custodians are also making sweeps of the school buildings several times a day to ensure that soap dispensers are filled in bathrooms, classrooms and in all other instructional spaces. Students and staff are washing hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
We have created a section of our website (www.mamkschools.org - Select "Community", then "Health Services", then "Coronavirus") devoted to Coronavirus: District Updates/Info and will continue to add to it as we receive additional information.
