Mid-Year Elementary School Reading Data Presented Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Annie Ward presented reading proficiency data for students in grades K-5 across all four elementary schools. Among the findings, which indicated substantial overall reading gains in the past four months:

Although the estimated tax rate increase remains low at 1.84%, the budget exceeds the State's allowable tax levy limit cap so will require a 60% voter approval, versus a simple majority.

The budget incorporates recent and multi-year cost efficiencies and fiscal strategies, such as elimination of the reliance of fund balance as a revenue budget item. It is built upon a projected stable K-12 enrollment, which follows many years of enrollment increases at all levels.
