The 2020-2021 Mamaroneck School District Budget passed overwhelmingly, with official results showing 74% of the voters (3,604) voting YES and 26% (1,263) voting NO. Rob Weisstuch and Sam Orans (2nd term) were elected as Board of Education trustees. Superintendent Dr. Shaps said, "We thank our community members for their support of our educational program during this unprecedented and challenging time. This budgetary plan is vital to our ability to provide robust teaching and learning amid uncertainties and meet the needs of all students."

Governor Issues Executive Order to Extend Absentee Ballot Return (by Mail) Date to Tuesday, June 16, 2020 - 5 pm

The budget vote will be held exclusively by absentee ballot. Absentee ballots are cast by a qualified voter who is unable to attend the official polling station to which the voter is normally allocated. Absentee ballots -- which will be mailed by the school district to all qualified voters May 26, along with a postage paid return envelope -- are due back by 5 pm on Tuesday, June 16,  2020.  Ballots can be mailed back or placed in the drop box that will be located on June 9 outside the main entrance of Mamaroneck High School from 7 am - 5 pm.

In order to qualify to vote you must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, resident of the district for 30 days immediately preceding the election and a registered voter.

If you are not registered, prospective voters can still register to vote with the local county board of elections by completing an online application with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.


Additional Budget Notice...

NOTICE IS GIVEN that a list of registered voters for the June 9, 2020 budget vote and school election is filed in the District Clerk’s office and  is available to the community for inspection.  A copy of that list can be obtained by emailing the District Clerk at jrice@mamkschools.org. Any qualified voter may, upon examination of such list, file a written challenge of the qualifications of any person whose name appears on such list, stating the reasons for such challenge. The written challenge shall be submitted to the District Clerk by email or mail by 5:00 PM on June 9, 2020 and must be transmitted by the District Clerk to the election inspectors on the day of the vote.

SE DA NOTIFICACIÓN que una lista de votantes registrados para el voto del presupuesto y la elección escolar del 9 de junio, 2020, está archivada en la oficina de la Secretaria del Distrito y está disponible a la comunidad para ser inspeccionada. Se puede obtener una copia de la lista mandando un correo electrónico a la Secretaria del Distrito a jrice@mamkschools.org. Cualquier votante calificado puede, después de haber examinado dicha lista, presentar un reto por escrito de las calificaciones de cualquier persona cuyo nombre aparece en dicha lista, enunciando las razones de dicho reto. El reto por escrito debe ser entregado a la Secretaria del Distrito por correo electrónico o correo regular antes de las 5:00 PM del 9 de junio, 2020 y debe ser transmitida por la Secretaria del Distrito a los inspectores de la elección el día del voto.
