MAMARONECK SCHOOL DISTRICT’S 2018-2019 BUDGET VOTE
& ELECTION OF SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS
Vote is Tuesday, May 15th, 2018
WHO: Open to all registered voters in Larchmont and Mamaroneck. Anyone registered for “general” elections is eligible to vote.
For those who are NOT already registered, you may register any school day between 9 am and 3 pm in the Superintendent’s Office at Mamaroneck High School (see the District Clerk), 1000 W. Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck. The last day to register to vote is Thursday, May 10th by 4 pm.
To vote, you must be at least 18 years old, an American citizen and a resident of the District for at least 30 days. You may check your registration status by calling District Clerk Joanne Rice, 220-3007.
WHAT: Each year, the Superintendent of Schools presents a Recommended Budget to the Board of Education. The Board spends a few weeks reviewing the budget at public meetings; revisions are made, and then the Board adopts a proposed budget for the community to vote on.

7 am – 9 pm
WHERE: Vote at your local elementary school: Central School, Chatsworth Ave. School, Mamaroneck Ave. School, or Murray Ave. School.

WHY: The budget is the District’s educational plan. It includes all expenses necessary to operate the school district for the following school year. It covers three areas: Program, Administrative, and Capital expenses.
Special Day Designated to Voter Registration
A special school voter registration day will be held on Wednesday, May 9th at Mamaroneck High School from 7-10 am in the Superintendent’s Office and from 4-8 pm in Rm. N101 at the high school.
Voting by Absentee
If you will not be in the area to vote on election day, you can vote by absentee. Voting by absentee is a two-step process, but an easy one! Click here for an absentee ballot application. After you submit an absentee application, a ballot will be mailed to you.
The last day to obtain an absentee ballot, if it is to be mailed to the voter, is May 8th by 4 pm. The last day to obtain an absentee ballot, if it is to be picked up in person, is May 14th by 4 pm. Absentee ballots are due in the office of the District Clerk by 5 pm, Tuesday, May 15h.
