Pre-School Support Services

Often, parents of pre-school children have concerns over their child’s educational needs and progress. Mamaroneck’s Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) determines the educational needs of children three to four years of age as well as designing and implementing intervention plans to meet those needs. If your child is younger than three, please refer to the county Early Intervention Program. Parents of students aged five and above should in turn refer any concerns to their respective neighborhood school.

Parents are considered to be crucial members of the CPSE and their participation is highly encouraged throughout the referral and meeting process. If you have a concern regarding your three or four year-old’s progress, please do not hesitate to contact the Mamaroneck CPSE coordinator, Kristen Arita, at the contact information below. She can advise you on next steps in the CPSE process and how best to proceed.

The Office of Student Support Services looks forward to working with you in order to provide the supports needed to maximize your child’s growth and development during their preschool years and best prepare them for their transition to kindergarten.
