Competing for a Non-School Team

Opportunities exist for Mamaroneck student-athletes, at all levels, to participate on non-school sponsored athletic teams while participating on school sponsored athletic teams. When these situations occur, sound communication between the student-athlete, parent or guardian, coaches and athletic administration is mandatory.

As discussed in the philosophy portion of this handbook, membership on a modified, junior varsity or varsity team requires a considerable time commitment. Also as discussed in this booklet, the school district must monitor the wellness and safety of each of our student-athletes. With this in mind, situations involving outside-of-school competition must be carefully evaluated on a case by case basis.

Mamaroneck student-athletes’ first commitment must be to the school program.
