Jessica
DeDomenico was born in Washington, D.C. and she grew up in
Arlington, Virginia. She attended Yorktown High School, and
the University of Virginia, where she received a Bachelor's
Degree in Psychology. She moved to the “big city,” to attend
Teachers College, Columbia University, where she received a
Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. Mrs. DeDomenico
worked at The Children’s Advocacy Center of Manhattan for
four years. During her time there, Mrs. D worked with
abused children and she spent time in New York City
classrooms speaking to teenagers about healthy
relationships. Jessica was the 9th grade
counselor at Rye High School for one year and she has been a
counselor at MHS since 2003.
Mrs. D,
her husband Craig, and their yellow lab, Morgan, recently
moved from the City to the suburbs. Although she misses the
buzz of the City, Mrs. D is keeping busy with projects in
her new home. She enjoys exercising and cooking in her
spare time. Since a young age, Mrs. D has been fascinated
by Art History. After spending years bopping in and out of
museums in Washington, D.C., and studying Art History in
college, she now loves to see all the latest art exhibits in
New York City.
Mrs. D
hopes to serve as a listening ear and an advocate to her
students. Her door is always open to students who have
problems big or small. She loves every opportunity to get
to know all of her students and she enjoys when they stop by
just to say “hi.” Mrs. D is known for having quite the
stash of candy in her office!
