The Invisible Ones By Aaron I am the invisible woman I am the invisible girl Who no one knows Who no one sees They look through me So they do not see me They do not see our plight They do not hear our cries Do not see that we are trapped In society's snare
|
The Watcher By Aaron They think I am the stalker But I am the prey Always on the defensive Watching my surroundings Like a hawk in a tree Ready at the drop of a needle To take off in flight I will not surrender And no one will make me fight

Jeff
An Interview By Mariel Mariel: How did you develop an interest in photography? Jeff: I first developed an interest in photography after I got a nice point and shoot camera for my 13th birthday. I furthered my passion for photography in the program offered at MHS, which I have been enrolled in for 3 years. M: Are there specific objects or places you like to photograph? J: I don't think there are any specific objects or places I like to photograph; however, I do enjoy capturing the essence of a foreign city that I have traveled to. I also enjoy photographing inanimate objects like buildings and architecture. I do not, however, enjoy photographing people. M: Are there specific ways you like to photograph? J: No, not other than carrying around a camera bag with a bunch of different lenses and then freelancing in a city. M: Where were all these pictures taken? J: All these pictures were taken in the Galapagos Islands, 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. M: Was the seal dead? J: The seal was not dead. It was bathing in the sun like they frequently do, and I frequently saw, during my visit. M: Do you plan to continue with photography as a hobby or as a career? J: I do plan to continue photography as a hobby. I do not see it as a career only because it is so hard to make a living taking pictures. This summer I am centering most of my activities on photography. I am working with the local paper as a photographer and maybe interning with an eye surgeon at NYU who also takes pictures of people's eyes. M: Do you think the new technology (i.e. digital cameras) will obliterate photography? J: No, it will only enhance what is already available. It will make the process of creating a picture much easier and may one day eliminate the use of film and photographic chemicals. M: Do you have a favorite photographer or photograph from which you draw inspiration? J: My favorite photograph is one taken by Neil Leifer, a famous sports photographer for Sports Illustrated. It is of Muhammad Ali v. Sunny Liston at the moment Ali knocks Liston out. I love this picture because Leifer captures a moment in time, that in reality, lasted only half a second, but in the picture it seems as though Ali stood over Liston for hours.
