Comments: I came to California in 1996 to work as a reporter at the
L.A. Times. I'm now senior editor at Variety and happily married to Stella, who
runs her own language translation company ... and braces for the next

Previous Comments: My name ain't exactly F. Scott Hayes, but somehow my writing career has
taken me to Los Angeles -- which essayist Mike Davis once dubbed ``a place where you can
rot without feeling it.'' I'm a full-time reporter for the Los Angeles Times, but fully
intend to sell out for the serious cash. And soon. When not hustling my screenplay or
knocking back shots of wheat grass, I'm harnessing my brain's every investigative impulse
to chronicle such insidious trends as the rise of cosmic bowling (an actual sport) and the
peccadilloes of David Lynch. OK, OK, anyone who would actually use the word
``peccadilloes'' in an MHS alumni posting invites scrutiny, but I'm cool with that. I
lived through Barney Gill and Ileen ``The Machine'' Gottesfeld. I know angst. Anyone
planning a trip to Times Square West, otherwise known as Disneyland, should look me up.
Fellow MHS '89 grad David Hafetz did so recently and, well, court testimony shows that I
didn't actually hurt the guy. He just had a better lawyer. CFN, as the Angelenos say. Ciao

Well i'm not sure how I found out about this page, but it sure seems to be a nice addition to my Bookmarks. Nice to see so many people from the class of 89 coming back to the roost, so to say. I currently am still in Mamaroneck, living with my Fiance of two years, (still no wedding date), and working with IBM in White Plains. After graduating from college, I joined the Peace Corps and lived by the beach in Ecuador for 2 1/2 years working in the Peace Corps' Deaf Education program. Returned to the states and worked in D.C. with the fed agency heading up the AmeriCorps program.
Eventually wound up in Seattle with my future husband and got a job at Amazon.com as a website developer (when it was still just books...) Comments: After working at US Tobacco for 11 years, Sean, my wonderful husband of 4 1/2 years, and I sold our house in Stamford and moved to Boise, Idaho. Man, it's beautiful out here! We now live with less traffic, a view of the mountains, really nice people, and much cheaper real estate! It's just more mellow than the tri-state area - and we love it! I do however miss the water, as polluted as it may be - the smell of the salt air floods my mind with so many memories. I get back to NY about twice a year. Going back in Feb.
