Comments: I looked through the current list of alumni of MHS. I found only one
person listed from the l940's, a woman from the classof 1948, unknown to me. Howie May is
a chiropractor in Miami, whom I see on occasion. Jack Luther lives in California. I have
heard from him by phone, but have not seen him in years. I would love to hear from anyone
from the Class of '49. I missed the reunion of the classes of '49-'51 because my son was
getting married in Minnesota that weekend. I live in Fort Lauderdale, and have for the
most part since 1957.

Comments: "You're going back to where for *what*? That's the reaction I get
when I tell my California friends I'm going back to a strange-sounding place on the East
Coast called M-a-m-a-r-o-n-e-c-k for my 50th High School Reunion. Fifty years ago! Five
oh! I'm old enough to have graduated from MHS fifty years ago. You furtively sneak across
Palmer Avenue to buy an illegal hamburger at that take out joint (is it still there?),
then drop your box of french fries. You lean down to get it. When you come up, it's 50
years later. The reason I have such a problem accepting the fact that I am old enough to
RememberPearl Harbor, is because I have the emotional maturity of a 19-year old. Maybe
when I see all those vaguely-familiar old folks who claim I copied their homework in

Living in Cambria, CA./ This is located on the Central Coast, half way between L.A. and San Francisco. Have lived here since 1982. Previously lived and taught school in Redlands, CA. Husband Bob worked for Lockheed Rocket Division, also located in Redlands, but no longer there.Had 3 children: 2 boys, 1 girl. Lost our oldest son in 1991 with a heart attack. Lost our 2nd son very recently to Cancer. Daughter, Judy, lives close by. Sure am glad she's here. It's not fair! The Class of 1943 held its 60th Reunion last September 2003 with a dinner at the Larchmont Yacht Club and brunch the next day at Bonnie Briar. Life here in Sierra Vista AZ is great. Altitude 4500' so cool evenings and hot days. I'd love to hear from any '43ers and from the class of '42 -especially Eric Reed Johnson or his wife Lillian, Bill Aulepp and Jim Caffery. Rather amazing for any of us to still be whoooping it up at our advanced ages! So keep trying .

In 1946 I went to Shanghai (CIA was signed into law in 47 by Pres Truman. I had a tour in
the Philippines, and Kobe Japan. I moved to Florida in 91 in order to play golf all year
round. Still love to travel in the U.S. and abroad.
