I am very excited to help your children celebrate their birthdays in school! I am

writing to give you some important information regarding birthdays:

In school birthdays:

I welcome the opportunity to celebrate your child’s birthday with the class.  On

your child’s birthday I invite you to send in a small snack such as; cupcakes,

brownies, cookies, doughnuts, or another one of your child’s favorite snacks.  If

this is not possible for you, please feel free to contact me and we can make alternate arrangements.

We can also make arrangements to  serve the birthday snack at a time that would allow you to join us in the celebration.  .

Outside of school birthday parties:

I understand often times it is more convenient for parents to send their child to

school with their birthday party invitations.  However, the only rule I have

about this is:  If your child is a girl and would like to pass out invitations

to their birthday party, in the classroom, then all the girls in the class

must be invited.  If your child is a boy and would like to pass out

invitations to their birthday party, in the classroom, then all the boys in

the class must be invited.  If inviting all the boys or the girls to your child’s

party is not possible for you then I ask that you have your child hand out their

invitations quietly outside of the classroom or the school.  Please understand

that I have this rule in place to avoid any hurt feelings and discomfort to the

children.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding!
