Planning Council News:

The Hommocks Planning Council consists of representative parents, teachers and administrators.  They are charged with working collaboratively to improve educational achievement and the quality of life for Hommocks Middle School students.  In recent years, for example, they have facilitated communication between home and school by initiating an e-mail network for parents and revising the Parent Handbook, they have studied issues pertaining to minority achievement, and they developed an anti-bullying campaign.

Every year, a letter is mailed home in the spring asking parents interested in serving to nominate themselves.  Then four parent members are elected in a late August and early September.   The Council meets monthly after school.  At the conclusion of every session, they set an agenda for the upcoming meeting.
