Dr. Barbara Merling, School Psychologist, 220-3509

The School Psychologist is a full time member of the Chatsworth Staff.  Dr. Merling is part of the Chatsworth Student Support Team and involved in building level team meetings, Instructional Support Team  meetings, and the Committee on Special Education.  

Dr. Merling is a support for children, staff and parents.  She is available for crisis intervention, consultation to parents on a variety of topics including anxiety, stress, children's adjustment to school, home changes, social issues as well as learning issues and behavioral support.

Dr. Merling has worked at Chatsworth since 1982. She holds a Ph.D. from Fordham University, an MS. in Ed from Brooklyn College, and a BA from New York University. She is Coordinator of School Psychologists for the district.
