If school is to canceled for the day because of extremely bad weather, the fire whistle will blow 2-2-2 blasts at 7:30am. Radio stations WVOX (1460AM), WFAS (1230AM) and others carry school cancellation notices from 6:30-9:00am.
8)  Q How am I notified about No School, Delayed Openings, or Emergencies?
A
For emergency information call 220-3000, or go to our district hope page (www.mamkschools.org). Do not call the schools or police. Information will also be on LMC-TV cable channel.

When weather is uncertain, the Superintendent may call a delayed opening of two hours. In this case, there will be no fire whistle. A phone chain is used to notify parents. The radio stations and LMC-TV cable channel should also carry this information. Please make contingency plans for your children; children cannot be left at school since teachers and administrators will not be arriving until the delayed opening of school.
In an extreme emergency the Superintendent of Schools may dismiss school early. Every effort will be made to alert parents.
