Goals for the 2007-2008 School Year

 

A.     Student Learning

Continue to raise student achievement through Pre-K-Grade 12 alignment of high standards and expectations connected to teaching and learning

 

1.     Curriculum

a.     Perform a comprehensive review in each subject area at all grade levels to assess current curriculum and create a review cycle

b.     Implement and develop the work of the Literacy Design Team at the elementary levels

c.      Prepare to implement the revised “Investigations” math program at the elementary level and align the middle and high school math programs with the new state curriculum

 

2.     Instruction

Use research-based instructional practice which leads to improved achievement for all students

 

3.     Assessment

a.     Use data to assess both individual student performance and cohort progress across all discipline areas to differentiate curriculum and instruction

b.     Use our new student information system to enhance our ability to continually monitor the progress of all students as well as to disaggregate data more effectively

 

4.     Professional Development

a.     Develop and implement an effective APPR to support teachers and other staff members with on-going and meaningful feedback and professional development for continuous improvement

b.     Use the Professional Development Plan (PDP) to guide the District in the creation of meaningful professional development which strengthens student learning

c.      Continue to work collaboratively with the Teacher Institute to enhance professional learning for all staff

 

 

B.     Community Involvement

 

1.     Collaboration – strengthen District-wide efforts across all stakeholder groups

2.     Culture – develop an environment of collective reflection, inquiry and respect among our administrators, teachers, support staff and the entire community

3.     Communication – develop effective structures and systems which provide clear communications

 

 

C.     Fiscal Responsibility

 

1.     Budget development – develop a fiscally responsible budget while engaging the broad community in the process

2.     The Five Year Capital Plan – create action steps and implementation

3.     Athletic fields – create an action plan and implementation
