Communicating with Others Respectfully  Every Day

CORE is an acronym for Communicating with Others Respectfully Everyday. The CORE program is a conflict resolution and community building initiative which was launched during the 2003-04 school year. It aims to develop and deepen respect for ourselves and others, while building cooperation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Books, discussions, and cross-grade projects are important components of the CORE program.  Generous funding provided by the Central School PTA enables every grade to select books for the classroom libraries and the library media center relating to CORE's themes.  Why not ask your children what they are learning at school about Communicating with Others Respectfully Everyday?

Recently, several CORE Committee members undertook a Teacher-Directed Learning Project through the Mamaroneck Teacher Institute to update the CORE Booklist and add an additional component: music.  Please take a look at all of the wonderful additions to our CORE list by clicking on the links below!

At a recent assembly, second Grade Students created posters showing ways to respect the earth.
